Glenferness has much to enjoy and get involved with.
Activities
- Walks – The walks on Glenferness include some of the most secluded and spectacular scenery along the River Findhorn. Being a spate river it can go from a tranquil flow to an impressive torrent. As you wander along rugged river paths you will be amazed at the sights; ancient redwood trees that look like giants in the forest, a wealth of different wildlife from the red squirrel to the iconic Osprey. The opportunity to spot wildlife is endless.
- Bike rides – The estate tracks wind through woodland, fields and moorland and out to the Lochs. It’s also fun exploring the small single track roads nearby to find historic spots such as Dulsie Bridge, Ardclach bell tower and church or to take a look at Lochindorb Castle.
- Fishing – We can offer both fly fishing on the river for salmon and also for trout on the lochs. We have access to two lochs for trout fishing where there is a rowing boat to get out onto the water and a boat house on each to take shelter if the weather takes a turn. Both lochs are in a stunning setting and provide a lot of fun.
- Indoor games - The squash court which is attached to the Wooden House is the ideal games room for both children & adults alike to let off some steam, whether it be a game of squash, table tennis, pool or hitting the climbing wall, there is something for everyone on a rainy day.
